School Therapy Workload vs Caseload: Stay on Top of What's Due | MyTherapyWizard

Managing Workload, Not Just Caseload

Managing Workload, Not Just Caseload (MyTherapyWizard help article card)

In a OT FB group that I follow, therapists describe 40 students in two days, 92 students with no support, and burnout one month into the school year. A caseload count hides evaluations, meetings, consults and paperwork. Joint workload resources from AOTA, APTA and ASHA are a good starting point for that conversation with administrators.

  1. Start each day in My Worklist: unsigned notes, expiring plans of care, overdue provider orders, and upcoming or overdue lifecycle stages.
  2. Use the role filter to see students where you are primary, secondary or supervisor.
  3. Teams: leads use Team Caseload to assign care teams and Needs Action to see everyone's upcoming and overdue items.
  4. Teams: set workday deadlines for each stage in Flow Settings so reminders reach the right person.

💡 Why it matters: workload becomes visible to leaders as data, not as a complaint.
