MyTherapyWizard: Myth vs. Fact

(For the curious, the cautious, and the Writing Warriors.)

🧩 MYTH #1:

“AI writes the evaluations for you.”

FACT: MyTherapyWizard doesn’t write for you — it works for you. You enter the observations, item ratings and clinical reasoning. Scores are then calculated by structured scoring, not by AI. MyTherapyWizard organizes and formats that information using smart logic, not guesswork. You’re still the brain — MyTherapyWizard just handles the busywork.

What “structured scoring” means

  • Same rules for every item. Each Guided Evaluation item is rated against defined criteria, so the same performance earns the same rating no matter who is scoring.
  • Fixed math, every time. Item ratings roll up into domain scores and a composite score using hard-coded scoring rules. The same ratings always produce the same scores.
  • Bands come from set cut points. Each composite and domain score is placed in a performance band by fixed thresholds in the scoring rules — not by AI and not by a judgment call in the report.
  • Standardized scores stay yours. Scores from published tools (such as the BOT-3, VMI-6 or TVPS-4) are entered from the publisher’s scoring and placed in hard-coded score bands. MyTherapyWizard never re-scores them.
  • Guided Evaluations, plans of care and goals follow the same protocol. The plan of care is generated from the Guided Evaluation, and its goals populate into your session notes. Each goal gets a Goal Performance Index (GPI) that combines accuracy with the support needed, so 70% independent and 70% with maximum assistance score differently. Each session gets a Session Performance Index (SPI), the average of its GPIs.
  • Progress you can compare. Because the rules never change, a re-evaluation shows real item-level change, not differences in how a report was worded.

Scoring is structured today. As the data set grows, MyTherapyWizard plans to add formal psychometric calibration (Rasch or classical test theory) to strengthen it further.

Not an AI machine. Clinical intelligence.

MyTherapyWizard took five years to build. Its core is clinical logic: structured scoring, evaluation templates, goal building and progress tracking that turn the information you enter once into evaluations, plans of care, progress reports and outcomes. AI is one small tool inside that system, used only to put finished results into words.

🧩 MYTH #2:

“Using AI cheapens our profession.”

FACT:
Using unskilled, copy-paste AI does — but MyTherapyWizard isn’t that.
MyTherapyWizard’s AI is used for efficiency and accuracy, not for creative writing. It automates data synthesis, ensures professional formatting, presents results alongside the developmental expectations built into structured scoring, and even helps therapists generate multi-language reports so families of all backgrounds can finally understand their child’s results.

That’s not cheapening the profession — that’s expanding its reach.

🧩 MYTH #3:

“AI reports sound robotic or generic.”

FACT:
MyTherapyWizard’s reports sound like you on your best day.
They’re written from your actual input, using clear professional language that reflects your reasoning — just without the formatting fatigue.

You still approve every line before finalizing, ensuring accuracy, nuance, and therapist voice in every report.

🧩 MYTH #4:

“It’s not ethical or compliant to use AI in documentation.”

FACT:
MyTherapyWizard is fully HIPAA- and FERPA-compliant.
No protected information leaves the secured environment, and no AI process makes independent clinical judgments.
Your data stays safe, encrypted, and fully under your control.
Wizard automates the mechanics of reporting, not the meaning.

🧩 MYTH #5:

“Automation makes us lazy.”

FACT:
Automation makes us sustainable.
With evaluation reimbursements often under $60, OTs can’t survive doing multi-hour reports. Wizard preserves both quality and sanity by eliminating redundant steps — letting you focus on the interpretation, not the formatting.

Less burnout. Better balance. Higher-quality care.

🧩 MYTH #6:

“AI will replace clinicians.”

FACT:
MyTherapyWizard doesn’t replace therapists — it empowers them.
It was created by an occupational therapist with 30+ years as a therapist and practice owner, and built over five years, to make high-quality documentation achievable in the real world.
MyTherapyWizard protects your expertise, your time, and your paycheck — all while making our work more accessible to families who speak any language, anywhere.

That’s not replacing us — that’s helping us reach further.

🧩 MYTH #7:

“The AI decides how my client scored.”

FACT: AI never assigns, estimates or changes a score. Every score and performance band comes from structured scoring of the ratings you enter, using the same rules for every client. AI only describes those finished results in plain language, and you approve every word before anything is final.

🪄 In One Line:

“AI in MyTherapyWizard isn’t artificial intelligence — it’s applied integrity.”
