Payroll and Pay Rates for W-2 and 1099 Therapists (MyTherapyWizard help article card)

Pay questions run both ways in owner groups: what is fair per visit or per evaluation, and how to account for documentation and admin time. Talk with your accountant about W-2 versus 1099 classification.

🪄 In MyTherapyWizard

  1. Set pay rates by therapist and service in Payer & Codes › Pay Rates.
  2. Payroll amounts are calculated from completed appointments in Payroll.
  3. Each therapist sees their own documents in My Payroll. Admin can share payroll via email notification or just in the app.
  4. MyTherapyWizard calculates payroll; your payroll provider pays it.

If the clinician doesn't have log in access (for clinicians who have resigned, etc), then Admin will need to manually download a PDF and share it with the clinician.

Open each pay date to view and edit each clinician's payroll and to choose to share with them.

💡 Why it matters: pay follows the same signed appointments that drive billing, so pay disputes start from one record.
